The Whole You Massage, Yoga and Wellness Studio in Radford, Virginia is seeking a motivated recent graduate from an accredited massage school who would like to hone their skills, gain confidence and acquire new expertise in a supportive environment.

 

The selected candidate will receive mentorship with practical hands-on training as they begin their career within the healing arts. Not only will this person learn and develop skills in bodywork and energy healing, they will learn the “ins and outs” of running a successful and sustainable business.

 

This person will grow to be an essential part of our team during the six months. Ideally, they will continue working at our beautiful studio once the Apprenticeship Program is completed. 

 

Position Details 

 

The selected candidate will receive direct mentorship + training from Kelly McCoy and Meredith Eileen. We have 25 + years combined experience in the healing arts.  In addition, each month they will work with and receive feedback from other highly skilled massage professionals in the New River Valley. 

 

The selected candidate will work with up to 10 - 15 clients a week for massage, body scrubs and energy healing at our studio. They will also have at least one shift a week working as a Studio Fairy. In this position they will oversee the Foot Soak Room and tend to various needs around the studio. They will be expected to participate in at least 3 outreach events a month such as: Radford Farmers Market, races and visits to local libraries, schools & businesses.

 

Accommodation Details (Valued at $550)

 

The selected candidate will have accommodations provided at no charge.  This includes a cozy bedroom with access to Wifi, a shared kitchen and bathroom.  

 

Hours and Compensation:

 

Hours will vary weekly -  20 hrs. Minimum/ 40 hrs. Maximum a week.

 

The selected candidate will be paid $15/hr plus gratuity while practicing massage therapy. They will be paid $11/hr plus gratuity while working as a studio fairy. 

 

Standard Qualifications:

 

The candidate should be a recent or soon-to-be Graduate of a Massage Program that meets ALL necessary credentials to become licensed in Virginia as a massage therapist.

 

Although we are accepting applicants that are currently enrolled in school, the selected candidate will not officially be hired until they have turned in ALL necessary paperwork to The Virginia Board of Nursing which oversees the licensing of massage therapists in Virginia. 

 

Once an eligible candidate has applied for LMT approval in Virginia through The Board of Nursing. They may begin provisional practice of massage therapy, upon explicit written permission from the VA Board of Nursing.
